Wow - three for the price of one!!

It is highly probable that it is the PNP switch causing the lack of lights if you have checked that the reverse light bulbs are not blown.

Try moving the shift lever from 'P' to '1' and back 15 to 20 times. This has been known to clean the PNP switch contacts. If that fails then it may be time to invest in a new switch.

The PNP switch is mounted alongside the gear shift lever.

Why do you want to see if it is "sucking fluid"?

It just does not seem to be engaging at all. no pressure is what it feels like. and it just sits there and reves. That is why I say that.

I recently had my car plugged up and found out that not only was my air pump bad, but it is showing to replace the PNP switch. How effective is cleaning the contacts by moving it back and forth? Will it just do the same thing in a week if it is not replaced?
