Remove dents

Post by Pretribrapper »

I brilliantly drove into my garage with my mountain bike up top... now I have four dents and a little messed up paint. Want to get dents out but dont know what is best DIY. I have heard suction cup kits, slide hammers with glue tips, all sorts. Any good suggestions

try using a blowdryer or heat gun to heat it up and then rub over it with ice cubes. or a can of compressed air (upside down) to freeze it.

Park the car outside the entire summer.
The heat from the sun will bake the sheet metal and most of these will pop back out.

Volvos are tough metal. My body man says they are the worst to work on because they are the best for safety. That said I think the solution would be paintless dent repair. Dropping the headliner should give access to the dented areas and a good PDR person can make those look pretty much like new.

Because the metal is premium quality - little tricks that work on lesser cars most likely will not work. I suppose you can try, but I have a dent on my XC90 hood and it has not changed at all. It needs to be worked out physically - for me it is not worth it - but my body man says his PDR man can do it for $150 no problem.
