That is the first post I have seen that has had a failure with a Walbro pump.
Given that we are changing the pumps at, more or less, halfway through the life of the car before someone plows into the side of it, I guess that shouldn't surprise me but that was a quick failure.
To the best of my knowledge I still have original pumps in both of mine, one is at 130'ish K on the clock an the other has 190i'sh on the clock. With those miles I fully anticipate buying a new fuel pump for either one or both soon and I was going to buy a Walbro replacement.
At the end of the day I think the secret to fuel pump life is to keep the fuel level above 1/4 tank at all times.
