How to fold down front passenger seat 1997 volvo 850 wagon

Hi all, I recently noticed that the "front passenger seatback folds flat, allowing storage of long items, like ladders, that extend from the tailgate to the front dashboard" I was wondering how do you do that on 850 wagon???? I tried reclining my seat forward but would not work

If it's anything like my 1999 S70 (which it should be) look at the base of the seatback (from the back seat). There will be two little levers, one on each side. If you lift both at the same time you should be able to fold the seatback all the way forward. Just be sure to slide the whole seat far enough back to allow the fixed headrest to clear the glovebox. BTW, the headrests are fixed in place aren't they? I've tried to move it up but no love...

The headrests do not "adjust"... they sit in place at that position. They can be removed by pushing the release buttons at the same time and pulling upward.... you almost need a 2nd person or a third hand to do it, as it's awkward. The buttons are located under the upholstery on the back side of the seat approximately 3 to 4 inches below the very top of the seat, and in line with each post of the headrest. You pretty much have to feel for them...
