Just wanted to let you all you guys know that there are still a few decent human beings left on this planet in 2019. I recently needed some assistance with installing several front end suspension parts, a hub bearing assy and some rear brake pads.
In trying to save a few bucks, "Amblerman" drove to my home with his tools and successfully completed the work. I lost my driver's license earlier this year due to a medical issue but should regain it soon. The car passed state inspection & emissions test today. Kudos to the Amblerman and any of you guys that chimed in with your advice.
Many thanks to Amblerman!

Whooo Hooo!...
I was waiting for the news on the inspection. The more important question is, did it drive and stop ok???
Many thanks to all the people that chimed in with advice about the differences between the V70 control arms and the ones on my older s70.
The various tips made the job go smoothly. We got really lucky and didn't encounter any seriously rusted fasteners. That was a huge bonus.
For those that find this thread in the future, I picked up a 3-4 inch tie down strap from Napa and used that method to hold the control arm down when putting the ball joint back in. It was pretty easy to do with two people. One person uses their foot to press down on the control arm while the other tightens the strap underneath. worked well.
We did find a few other jobs that need to be done but getting the car to pass inspection was the first goal.
I was happy to help and I'm glad you had a positive outcome with the inspection.
Any time.
