P80 NA DENSO MAF mount bolts issue 1275636

Issue * came across harvesting a MAf today

The MAf on NA cars are made by DENSO and mount with two M6 (10mm head ) bolts

The bolts are typical steel but bolt into brass threads fused into the air cleaner

I had bad galvanic corrosion on one of mine, so bad the fused and broke the threaded insert ou to the plastic

I had to Dremel it put and re-epoxy the insert into the MAF

Check your cat too, while you test your bolts.

Denso is 99+ cars only. 98 and prior are Bosch, different part.

Your cats appear to be bad, both are missing their precious metals =P

The cats also look dark - may need cleaning. Might be too rich condition.

I see you got each cat to face the tail pipe, but now they flow in opposite directions???!!!

Clarifying a bit more

The design is m6 bolt, clearance. Brass boss on air cleaner housing, threaded brass m6 insert in MAF, two pieces.

Look how the bolt corroded in the brass boss, but not in the insert.

Strange. When I went to unscrew this it locked up in both, then broke the insert out of the MAF. It was also locked into the brass boss.
