Car died

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Any lights? Can you hear the fuel pump? Any other information you can provide? Gas level sufficient?

Check the positive connection under the hood. Had the starter cable go bad and fry the fuse panel it's connected to in my 2004 S80 T6. The car suddenly died while running normally and would not restart like the battery suddenly died. June

Yes there are headlights, but after charging the battery it still drags when we try to start it, and it has a full tank of gas, and duel pump sounds like it is clicking on, but dont seem like its getting fire, also here a clicking noise when trying to start it in a silver box that im thinking is the ETM electronic throttle module i believe

Check your serpentine belt and make sure it is there. While having someone turn it over make sure the alternator pulley is spinning. When asked about lights - I was asking about check engine lights. It could be your alternator failed and you don't have enough power. Charging the battery and getting it started should result in a warning light and/or error message regarding electrical power.

As June suggests, checking your cables is a good idea - also power related.

If the car does not have enough power all sorts of computer systems will not function correctly - so battery and fuel is the first place I would look.

Check your timing belt - remove the cover and inspect. If it is intact and tight, try unplugging the MAF and see if it starts.

Without codes it is pure low lying fruit guesses.

Get the battery on a 10 Amp charger for a full day, then report back how it cranks (turning engine over with key) and if it trying to fire at all.

Usually, when they go suddenly, its an electrical fault of some kind, but it can be in main charging, starting, or even fuel delivery system.
