Replacing up& down02 sensors, coil packs

Currently my volvo v70 will not pass NY State Inspection. Hesitates on start-up. A general mechanic told me to replace both upstream and downstream 02 sensors and coil packs. Any suggestions or advice on this? I am new to volvo.

You are probably failing inspection due the presence of engine codes, stored in your engine computer, or ECM.

You need to read those codes and get the. Actual numbers like Pxxxx.

Most trouble codes are caused by vacuum leaks and broken hoses, occasionally plugs and coils go bad in these cars too. Hold off on oxygen sensors for now

How many miles ? Turbo? You only need to replace the upstream O2 for the emissions, but some mechanics are too quick to give simple answers. Can be other things other than a front O2 sensor. Give us more details if you have, and try to find the culprit with certitude. As for the coils, unless you have a lot of miles, just need to replace 1 or 2 when they fail - they will give a shake or missing. Use Bosch from Fcpeuro. More important is to have the correct spark plugs of the right brand.
