Hi everyone,

The other day I went to open my front passenger side door and it was stuck, couldn't open it from the outside or inside. I took the door panel off and tried to open the stuck lock as instructed by RobertDIY in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EA3YSARDxcI

I tried pushing the brass tab several times and no luck.

Anyone know what else I can try?

Does anyone have any idea as to which part is malfunctioning?

I am assuming the entire mechanism will have to come out and replaced somehow. Any ideas on what parts I need and how to do this would be greatly appreciated! Much thanks in advance!

Have somebody push in on the door as you try again.

Hi RickHaleParker, I tried having my wife push the door in as I pushed the brass tab, but no luck. The brass tab moves freely but doesn’t release the door.

Any other ideas? Is this something most mechanics could fix or would if have to go to the dealership? Thanks in

I would think that would be a task for a Body shop. Them guys solve problems like this all the time.

There is one other thing I would try. Work the lock as you try to unlatch it. Sheer luck might happen.

That would have to be the internal lock button as a 1999 has no external lock if I recall.
