SC-901 in dash 3 Disc CD player not working

My in dash 3Disc cd player will not play a disc, it keeps cycling trying to load the next dis when I load it with a CD then push it in.Anyone had this problem? Also the Pro-logic surround option, when i select it,when it works the sound is awesome, but most of the time the speakers cut in and out when using this option, not when choosing stereo or the 3 channel option, only when using pro logic surround mode,it sounds like a radio station with bad signal,music cuts in and out and staticy.

There are several how-to's written on how to maintain the laser on these units which cause the problem you are experiencing.

I wrote one for the older SC-900 but the principles are the same although there are slight differences.

The basics are how to clean the laser with rubbing alcohol on cotton buds. Take the time while working on it to clean the play heads for the tape player too.

I read somewhere the rear 9 inch subs behind seats only work in conjunction with the CD player, is this correct. I never seem to hear anything from them when listening to the stereo, i know the rear sub woofer button controls them, when it is pressed in the orange light comes on meaning sub woofers are off.The pro logic sound option sounds amazing when it works but has static and the music cuts in and out, anyone have any ideas what would cause the Pro Logic sound to cut out
