oil cooler on a 2.4i

Post by WacoVolvo »

My 2006 V50 2.4i overheats when driven aggressively. Its a B5244S4, made in Belgium, and has a Behr oil cooler (3M51-7A095) with 4 ports. One of the top lines is coolant and the other is vacuum line.

Is it the transmission cooler? The information indicates oil coolers are found either on a diesel or turbo engine.

Could this oil cooler become blocked intermittently causing the engine to overheat?

That’s the transmission oil cooler. I don’t think it being clogged would cause overheat. I’d be looking at the thermostat, coolant temp sensor, or radiator/cooling fan function
