Well, turns out the MAF was dead... again. Now on MAF #3 for this car! Probably the insane heat getting to everything.
My clutch pedal is still hard as a rock after driving through a downpour yesterday afternoon. This is the second time this has happened, but this time it's still doing it today. The last time, it went back to normal the next day. Just installed a new master, so all I can think is either water got into the bell housing and rusted my flywheel a little bit (and the clutch needs to grind it off) or my slave cylinder is failing. I wouldn't be surprised, it's an original slave from a '96 850. At least it's easy to get to!

Then I pulled my 940 into the garage tonight and replaced the worn out old strut rod bushings with fresh iPd poly bushings. Easy job... I love the RWD cars. This should tighten up the front end a little bit. Now I just need to replace the tie rods, sway bar links, and ball joints. All of the rubber bushings look surprisingly good!

The iPd billet turbo cam is also looking nice sitting in the reman head that's soon to be put on the 940. Just need to order an angle flange downpipe for my 16t, then I swap everything.

Read up on VVT which you will have in the exhaust cam. You need the cam lock tool.

Hopefully, you won’t have to retime it 11 times like me before the Stupid was purged.
Fortunately my VVT stupidity was purged a few years ago. Fun memories...

Just got back from a 6 hour round trip to sell an M66. Averaged 21.5 MPG. And that's high for this car!
Can't wait to do the delta link swap.

Over the last few days I've been sorting out some rust on my arches, and today I 'detailed' the engine bay. I think I'll stick a thread up on the rust issue, as I've not found any info on this forum pointing to it.

Nice job ! I think I'll do the detail on Sveedy this weekend.
So I've got to ask - what do you mean by " arches " ? I'm familiar with " boot, bonnet, spanner " etc from my MG days.
Guessing wheel wells ?

Good lord those "quick" disconnect AC lines are a nightmare to disconnect. I keep finding custt build up at the connections. I wonder if years ago I put a can of R134a that had some kind of stop leak in it. Also the orifice is a ***** to get to.

The air line that passes through the computer box and then routes through the firewall into the cabin. Is that for fresh airwhen the system is set to recycle?

You wanT to put the Orfice tube in, seat the orings but leave the nuts loose until you get the hard lines seated into the evap.

Once those lock, nip down the nuts with either open end or crows feet.

I think the ECU box is always fed positive pressure from the climate system

That makes more sense to me. That line for me was under so much tension it took about 20 minutes of pulling and working to get it out. I also love that the nut has holes on either side for penetrating oil. Luckily this one came apart pretty easily.

Since I have the lines disconnected now, should I flush the lines out with some brake cleaner?

Ugh those quick disconnects SUCK. Such a pain to release. I bet that orifice tube is nasty, mine was caked up with so much garbage. I guarantee someone used stop leak to try to fix the evaporator leak, but of course it won't work since it couldn't get past the orifice tube.
