neil-
yep i guess i'll just need to get in there! my questioning regarding if it was with or without a bar came from some euro retailers showing "9200014" labeled product barless, and actually the history of the XC itself(was purchased privately from what turned out to be a hell of a POS seller.. thats another story..)
i'll let you know how this goes and appreciate your time-

having a hell of a time getting lower nut loose(the tops already out of mount) - ive hit it with pb blaster, propane, tried vice grips, tried giving myself a hernia, tried jostling it by raising/lowering with jack.. the nut is starting to round out..
any bright ideas?

Heat that nut cherry red, order a new one ( you can use a cheap one from Lowe’s until good one comes) and then get an impact on it.
If you don’t have that stuff, it’s time to buy a Dremel while you are buying that back up nut, and cut it off
Start in a flat and go in slowly. You will nick the threads a bit, not too worry, it will still work fine
Dremel off will take about 10 minutes max with the 1 inch reinforced discs.
Gloves and glasses mandatory. I wear a face mask because I hate metal pock marks

Dremel it partway then use a nut splitter if you can find one big enough, cheap tool works great I have used it on suspension bolts:
