2002 s60 check engine light

Post by Dux »

Hi,
I cant find the codes or reset the check engine light. I've tried holding the read button and pressing the light (fog?) button. No messages, I've used my obdII reader, it showed no codes (DTC) nor would it reset the light.

It runs like it should, the only issue I have is that I have to refuel very slowly otherwise it gushes fuel back out (another issue I need answered)

What should I try next?

Thanks

The trick is to hold the "read" button while simultaneously pressing (twice) the rear fog light button.

There's a valve that prevents fuel from gushing out in the event of a roll-over. I'd be suspicious of this first and foremost.

Holding the "READ: button and pushing the rear fog lamp button will only access the message panel and let you know if DTC's were set on specific modules. It will not tell you the specific DTC code.
If your OBDII reader can't reset the check engine light or read any DTC's, you need a better reader or VIDA/DICE.

Lots of posts in the forum about VIDA/DICE.

Good luck.

Glad you were able to pull the codes.

Both are emissions codes. I'd recommend you tighten or replace your gas cap, reset the codes and then see if they come back.

If you overfilled your tank recently, that also could throw an emissions code.

Good luck.
