CVVT error P1672

Post by rmd62163 »

Ok, I was wondering if anyone has run in to something similar? I have a 2000 S70 Volvo non turbo. The P1672 error popped up about a year ago and after researching, all pointed to a bad VVT. So I ordered a new one in the dead of winter. No garage so I waited till nice weather. And put on the new one which was the new designed one ISANCE Intake Camshaft Adjusting Soleno ... XC70 OEM# Right after installing I got P0443 errors, so i changed the purge valves front and back as that's what the code indicated, bad valves. Only to find out that the emissions fuse was blown leading to the P0443 error (not the valves). thinking that was the problem, I put in a new fuse and it blows. Ok short some where right? traced all wires and could not find one. After debating for awhile I deduced that this started once I changed the VVT. So I put the old VVT back on and the fused does not blow out. Put the new one back on and it blows. Running with the original VVT I have no rough idling and my MPG is actually every bit as good as it was when I got the car 27.7 MPG according to the dash. Testing the new VVT appears to have no issues OHMs 3.7, no short, operates as expected when applying 12volts to the terminals. I have tried to giving up on it and and just ignore the error light but it really bugs me. Any one have any suggestions??????? One other thought, could a worn out timing belt possibly give a p1672 error. Just a thought, probably a dumb one though!

VVT hub or VVT solenoid?

The link is dead but if you didn’t buy a Volvo VVT solenoid, you wasted money

There is only one purge valve so I’m not sure I understand the emission done ?

this is what I got (ISANCE Intake Camshaft Adjusting Solenoid CVVT Valve 8670421 36002685 For Volvo S80 S60 S70 V70 C70 XC90 XC70 OEM#.) and the (Volvo (98-09 code 7/8) Shut-Off Valve for Vapor Canister.) and (Volvo Purge Valve for Fuel Vapor Canister Brand New OEM PIERBURG )

So are you suspecting that the ISANCE is a piece of crap and not worth the money I payed for it? probably true.
