Transmission thoughts please
Re: Transmission thoughts please
oh and by the way i went to farm and fleet 120 mile from chicago 2.50 a quart, unbelievable compared to chicago area dex 3 2 gal containers. Engine oil on sale for 1.80 a quart. Chicago area cheap engine oil 5.60 a quart. 8.80 for dex 3 a quart. Count your blessings.
Well I didnot find vent yet but I did get to drive it. And put some miles on it. Well it seems that the problems stem from Trans when it gets into 4th. At about 45 mph. All hells breaks lose and trans goes into limp mode. Slips rattles clutch drums. And it will not make it 1 mile without having to stop shut it off and wait AFEW. Before I got to the 42 mph 1-3 it proformed great. But after it entered into 4th DONE. Due not for any reason pull out dip stick. You will get covered with oil. Yes it was filled
To proper
Levels hot. Even if it’s 2 quarts short you get a shower.
If I take it out of gear then there’s no reverse and no forward. Wait for 1 min. Restart and you get RF back. This always repeats. Has to be something with the
Pressure diff keeping the oil from the pick up. And causing volcano effect

I did change oil twice since this problem surfaced. When the trans goes into limp mode it slips like hell. I have to pull over stop shut it off play with the shifter get it out of the limp mode and then it’s ok again under 42 mph. 1-3 RD only. Trans is not reliable anymore.

What you suggest one look at when the Transmission goes into limp mode ?

You mean P0755 & P0730 ? No part of a code is insufficient.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1-1-3 (P0755) Control Module. Fault in control module
DTC information 1-1-3
Condition
Solenoid S2 is controlled by an integral amplifier (driver stage) on the output of the control module. The control module opens the driver stage when the solenoid is to be activated and the solenoid then receives supply voltage. If the control module registers a short circuit in the driver stage in the output to solenoid S2 when it should not be activated, road speed is above 25 km/h (15 mph) and the gear shift selector is in position D, 3 or L, the DTC 1-1-3 is set. Solenoid S2 cannot then be activated.
Substitute value
The emergency “Limp-home” program has been initiated and the transmission operates only in 4th gear.
Possible source
Poor performance due to the transmission starting in 3rd gear.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
3-2-2 ( P0730 ) Gear ratio (Group II only). Incorrect Gear ratio
DTC information 3-2-2
Condition
Note! (Group II onlyI) Control Module .
The control module calculates the ratio between the transmission input rpm and the car speed. There is a specific ratio for each gear. If the TCM registers a ratio deviation of more than 10%, the DTC 3-2-2 is set.
Substitution value
None
Possible source
Check out the wiring and connectors.

Contact resistance in connections.

Possible source
- Interference with or signal errors on the signal from the transmission rpm sensor
Interference with or signal errors on the signal from the vehicle speed VS signal from the combined instrument
Contact resistance in the Solenoid S1 or S2 circuit.
Gear position sensor incorrectly adjusted
Malfunction in gear position sensor
Transmission oil level too low.
Mechanical fault in the transmission. Worn components in the transmission causing slippage or reduced system pressure.
- Poor performance due to the transmission operating only in 4th gear
A noise or some obvious mechanical fault is the most common indication of a mechanical fault in the transmission.
Check out the wiring and connectors.

The 755 code set by a dirty PNP switch which is
Located on top of transmission connected to linkage
730 comes on the
Min it hits 4th gear that caused by solenoid ?
So why does the trans get to the point of blowing oil out of dip stick tube and even before that happens trans will lose all gears encluding reverse and then after recycle engine off run again after 20 seconds it all comes back
