Are these component numbers from an electrical schematic? They sound like they are.

That's how those read to me also, pin and connector ids from schematic. What are you troubleshooting ( in mechanical terms)
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

Yes, electrical components . Have 3 issues , interior [ dome light ] does not shut off when doors are closed . Must switch off at dome light .
power door locks do not work with remote . Battery goes dead if left connected for several days .
Battery works fine in my S70 , so not the battery .
I am retired from my VOLVO shop now 12 years, so not a lot of experience with P80 electrical issues .

Dome light assembly works fine in my S70 . Have several proper remotes but none work .
Might add, I have the AUTODIAGNOS MULTITESTER PRO which is what we used at the VOLVO dealership .

I dont think the component numbers are preserved across model years, but 2/76 is the lock controller and 3/79 is the antenna ring in 1999. The component family 2/xxx will be preserved.
If you are having trouble with the courtesy lights coming on, there is a painful thread on that in this forum with 2/76 part number in the title.

Thanks ! Could the dome light issue and the door locks be connected ? I see several microswitches in door latch . Surely one tells the dome light that the door is closed ?

Everything sends signals to the lock controller, which then grounds the lights through a power transistor
It’s a nasty complex system

This is for a 1999 so the system is different, but gives an idea of the complexity
