coil spring spacers

Post by hu5ker555 »

Has anyone had success using rear coil spring spacers? I'm just looking to lift the back end about 1/2" to 1". A couple years ago I bought the blue spacers that IPD sells. They didn't seem tall enough to make any difference. Other suggestions? Recommended sizes/dimensions/manufacturers?

Only recently joined a truck board...lifting is completely new to me. Shocks hitting limits internally is always cited.

Raising the nose of V70's and leveling has come up.

Don't have exposure or knowledge.

I too want to lift the rear a little - my front got lifted from new shocks. I will try see if the rear springs for 98-06 S80 are thicker, perhaps they will jack the rear of the S60 a little - not tested yet

The original question being about an S60, I went at the junkyard and measured the thinness of the rear springs. The S60 and S80 appear to have the same coil spring thinness, while the V70 has slightly thicker rear coil springs - all these being FWD cars. So a rear FWD V70 spring should lift a little the rear of an S60.

Spring rate=(G(D^4))/(8N(M^3))
G=11,250,000
D=Wire diameter in inches
N=Number of active coils
M=Mean coil diameter in inches (Outer diameter of coil spring minus wire diameter)

Not sure if that helps anything, but that'll give you the spring rate in pounds/inch.
