White ish smoke comes from tailpipe when hitting gas in neutral or drive. Little bit comes out when idling
.gets much thicker at certain points if revving it. No coolant in oil, no oil in coolant, no significant oil loss. Car well kept with 138k 2.4 5cyl . "Smoke" from exhaust does not smell like coolant or oil in the slightest bit, smells like nothing. The car is so incredibly cherry and I just bought it a week ago and am so bummed out now bc I love it so much. saw the smoke as soon as I got it back to my driveway 4 miles up the road. Really didn't notice/look for it during test drive or drive home. Really love this car and really hope it's not head gasket somehow or something else wrong with it. Former owner of 1992 saab 900s convertible , reminds me of that, such a heavy solid car. I hope someone can givee some good advice asap, thanks!

Don't worry...it's just condensation.

That's what I am thinking also, but it does it when engine is warm or cold . And also does it in 32° weather like it was the other day and still can see it although not as thick when it is 60° out like today. One thing I didn't mention but I'm assuming should have nothing to do with it is there is a pinhole leak in the radiator that leaks out when the thermostat kicks on but it is a small leak and takes a long long time to drain the radiator. It is a pinhole. Right in front of alternator on passenger side of radiator.

You should fix that....radiator should not be empty in any case....even the expansion tank should not go below min level because you can trap air in the system and blow the headgasket....if not allready.
Also....coolant in oil or oil in coolant are not always neccessary scenario...headgasket can be blown in compression chamber without evidence of oil in coolant or coolant in oil.
In that case it would force just exhaust gases into coolant system and blow the coolant hoses or radiator...eventually.

Fix that pinhole with someJB weld. You need pressure in your cooling system to stop the coolant from boiling
You can then also monitor, the coolant level correctly and see if you are losing coolant somewhere

There radiator has never even been close to empty.doesnt leak fast at all and I have added a little more to top it off once or twice. It doesn't start leaking from the radiator until about 25 minutes after the car running. Starts weeping then pinhole spraying on alternator . But like I said I have never even let the coolant level get even semi low.
But another thing, I notice large amounts of what looks and smells and feels to be straight up water coming out tailpipe when revving engine in park. And whenever I look in tailpipe with a flashlight I can see a small amount of water always sitting in the bottom of the pipe for a couple feet in. It almost looks to me like the tailpipe coming out the back is pitched back toward the front of the car instead of pitched towards the rear where water would roll that way more. I have no clue if that has anything to do with it. Also just to note, the car NEVER has overheated at all even after running for 1.5-2 hours . No power loss, engine sounds perfect.

Gonna have to pull raidator to fix pinhole , was thinking of trying the radiator stop-leak solution and pouring it in to see if it might stop it. It worked for 2 years on an old car and never leaked a drop after. The previous owner took care of car very well and said before pinhole leak in radiator the coolant level never dropped between coolant changes. Sucks cause I just can't figure it out. The water in and coming out of the tailpipe if confusing me.

Don’t use stop leak. There are small orfices in this engine that don’t respond well to glueMikeM1212 wrote: 05 Nov 2020, 17:28abscate wrote: 05 Nov 2020, 15:47 Fix that pinhole with someJB weld. You need pressure in your cooling system to stop the coolant from boiling

Can you get to the pinhole without pulling the radiator? If it’s spraying on the radiator it should’ve visible. I drove a jb welded radiator for 100 k miles/ 4 years
