If anyone is curious, that fantastic sound out of an American small block V8 is due to "180 degree" headers, where the two middle exhaust ports on each side are crossed over the engine to join with the opposite side #1 and #4 header pipes at the collector. It aids in high rpm exhaust scavenging with this particular firing order.

Somebody thought dyno was short for dynamite. So they tested it on dynamite.

Goodness. Catastrophic failure. Looks like an expensive block and parts.
