2000 V70R Headlight switch issue??

I tried to find a contractor to do a few new window openings in our houses's brick walls. After 2 years I gave up, paid my dad's retired friend to help me and did all these things myself. It is crazy how much contractors want to charge for mistly shutty executed wirk that isn't even that hard to do in the first place. Mist contractors here won't even give you a legit quote/offer if the overall value of the job is below 15000 or 20000 bucks.

unfortunately that seems to be the universal issue problem these days. I recall my brother in California saying the same thing, and my younger brother in Scotland too. Could not get people to even turn up to quote and then even if they did, they never turned up after agreeing to do the work!!

Having said that, just now all the trades guys I know and trust are just not available, at best 2-3 weeks before they have open schedules to do my smaller jobs. All the good stuff done on the garage was done by guys I have used before and have become friends in the process. Maybe time to start a new career?

Abscate, you have obviously trained your daughters well to be independent and confident young ladies. Kudos to you and SWMBO!

Funny story: My neighbour was helping a buddy build something. He was cutting the planks. Planks kept coming out short, but when his buddy cut them they were fine. Finally after a lot of head scratching, in desperation he compared his measuring tape with his buddies. They were bought as a 2 pack of Stanley 26' tapes. He discovered his tape was manufactured wrong and the end clip was 1/4" shorter than it should have been!!

Mind you he never gets to live that one down!!
