So here's another question... what IS the purpose of these metal strips at the front and back of the sunroof glass?

Why would you want to use glue again? thats why they came off in the first place. The 3M automotive grade tape used with the 3M primer. TIP heat up the tape before applying.

I think its to keep the help the seal when closed.

Would this be the tape?

And the primer?

The tape seems to be readily available locally, but the primer not so much.

Update: I used JB Weld to reattach the metal strip. Clamped it down in multiple places overnight and it seems to be attached very securely now. I reattached the glass using the new screws and washers and they are very securely tightened. My torque wrench doesn't even go down to 5 Nm, so I just tightened it to the point where the screw and washer were holding in place.

One thing I am unsure of is the proper height for the sunroof. The openings for the screws on the sunroof glass seem to allow for a few mm of movement up, down, left, and right. My gut instinct was to try and place the screws dead center. This resulted in the sunroof glass resting just slightly below flush with the roof surface. Not sure if this is correct or if I should try lifting it up a bit so it's more flush.

See the last page for recommended height adjustments.
