No....it is longer on 960,s,v90.
'97 850 2.5 20v / fully equipped / Motronic 4.4 from the factory / upgraded with S,V,C,XC70 instrument cluster / polar white wagon

The height of the shifter rod and knob thing are taller on the 960?

Shift knob body is at least 2x longer on 900 series(960.s,v90).
Google it and you will see a difference which is more than obvious.
