96 960: seat not working! I'm mad!

Post by CIK7 »

I have no clue what could be the issue with my powered passenger seat. I'm mad! I've done it all! Since the day I bought this car, the passenger seat has not worked. I did the sleeve shortening for the motors like Robert 'DIY' Spinner (rspi) did. When I first started this project, the car harness was green and corroded and the red wire was outside the harness. There's another guy that made a video about this issue. He had the same corrosion, same power wire ouside the harness. He trimmed, cleaned, and reconnected it and it worked fine. I figured I needed to buy another seat. Nope that one is doing the same thing. Then I checked both 15&30 amp power seat fuses which were fine. I mean my driver seat does work halfway and I know how to fix that. What is the orange wire for in that? Oh and the seatbelt sensor wiring harness has no mate. Seriously I looked along the side and everywhere. Does anyone know the route of the power seat wiring?

My guess is making sure there is 12 volts and a chassis ground reaching the seat controls.
