Immobilizer Dashboard Light in 2004 V40

Hi -

I'm noticing that occasionally the immobilizer light will come on the dash when I first start the car (04 V40 with 63k miles), but I'm still able to shift and drive the car. Each time I restart the car after the first instance, the light does not come on again. (This i the light with an X across a car.)

Not sure if it's just a fuse/electrical glitch or if I have a real problem. The car drives fine otherwise.

Do you have 2 car fobs (remotes) or Volvo keys on the same key ring?

I have just one fob on the keychain. In fact, we're taking the car in next week to have a new second fob programmed for the car.

To be honest I have no idea. If it's truly the immobilizer, your car shouldn't start at all. Usually takes getting out and locking/unlocking it several times to clear.
