engine not sitting right in engine bay

That's very possible that they sent you the wrong rack. Check for any identification stamps/marks on it.

Hate to bump this thread, but I’m pondering the way my S70’s engine sits... it looks to be crooked. It’s been sitting like this since I dropped it in last year, but I hadn’t worried about it until I’m really looking at it again. Am I remembering correctly that you figured this out?
I’m thinking it may have something to do with the passenger side engine mount.

There is a chassis break on the front engine mount , on the passenger side of the car, so if you grabbed one from the parts bin......😀

Good news is the 1999- one is the cheap one. I think I would stay Volvo here

So that PN is for the front engine mount bracket, on the front of the subframe. All I can think is that a PO had used the bracket from the 2001 V70 the engine came from (the engine I had replaced was previously replaced). 01 P2 bracket PN is 8649262. It’s visually different, so I’ll double check that tomorrow. I’m pretty certain I have a P80 bracket on there, though.
As far as the side engine mount bracket (front of engine, below crank pulley) this is what I found on VIDA...

01 (P2) bracket is PN 8683931
2000 (P80) bracket is PN 9135179 for -1377795
2000 P80 bracket is PN 9180961 for 1377796-

As far as the mount itself, there are a TON of numbers for P80s. The two relevant to my VIN (sequence number starts with 6 something) 9480189 (ALTER 2 S70 FC1 565001-, FC2 566269-) and 9480191 (ALTER 1, S70 FC1 565001-). Both are still available. It seems the -191 PN is for cars with 4 bolt control arms, so -189 is the correct one for this car.

Will update with my findings.

When we put the '02 motor in the wife's '97 GLT, I'm pretty sure I left the P2 bracket on the engine and used the -189 mount.

Good to know! So it should be the same if your engine isn’t crooked.

I know it’s subtle, but unless I’m going nuts this engine is definitely askew.

Maybe measure these two distances and I’ll measure on my 2000 to see what’s askew?

That does look off.

A little hard to compare with the current set-up in her car, as we reinstalled the "N" bits, but I don't recall anything being off when we put it back together. I know I wasn't happy to have to buy the more expensive PS motor mount, as we had just installed a new one of the older type a few months before the engine swap.

Yeah, your engine definitely looks to be sitting straight int the engine bay. I’ll check these measurements today.
