Hi everyone
I just recently started having this problem with my 2003 S60. After I turn off the car the radiator fan continues to run until the battery dies. The only way to stop it from continuing to run is by disconnecting it from the battery.
Trying to diagnose the problem more so I hopefully don't have to spend an arm and a leg at the local shops, but I am just not sure on how to proceed with fixing this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Likely bad ECT.
My guess is that you have more than 150K...
Best is to replace both the tstat + ECT.
I found a way to replace both w/o removing the PS Pump.
Here is a DIY for my 2006 XC90 2.5T.
You should check FCPEuro for PN for your year.
Stick to Wahler brand, about $100.

Yup, I am at about 165K right now. For sure I will check that guide out. Hopefully it is the same procedure to take it out of my 2003 as it was for yours.cn90 wrote: ↑11 May 2021, 22:24 Likely bad ECT.

The same ECT is used to a) control the fan, and b) feed the temp gauge. So if the gauge is still reading low when cold and mid range when warmed up then would that not be an indication of a properly functioning ECT? For that matter, if the gauge is running mid range with a fully warm engine that kinda confirms a good thermostat also.
I'd give some attention to the fan controller, but that's just one opinion.....
