Mine also fell off somewhere along the way! I have a junkyard one I've been meaning to put on.

- also, this'll be my last non-volvo post in this forums i swear, but this is the only forum i follow so I'll just share some work I've done over the last 2 weeks. Grinded+prepped+por-15 the top/crossmembers of my frame and painted my truck cap with some color matched 2 stage napa paint.

I was planning on starting on the auto trans replacement in my wife's GLT this today, but the weekend got away from me. We're planning to start this coming Friday now.

I did take a little time to swap out the DS door stop (which has been broken for a while, and was on the list to get fixed while the car was down for the trans). The old one came out in 3 pieces.
Image

Also, I took a trip to the Pull-A-Part near me, as I got a notification that an olive pearl '98 had come in, and I'm looking for a new DS fender for my T5 (Clear is starting to peel).
I was met with this when I got there. :( *sad trombone*
Image

I took the time to check out 3 other '98's, as well as a pair of P2 V70s and a P2 S60, hoping to find something useful, and was met with limited success. The P2's supplied a new timing cover for the engine in her GLT (It's a P2 engine, and the cover is cracked) and I snagged another 98MY M4.4 turbo ECU from the only P80 turbo on the yard.
The S60 was an '07 S60 2.5T AWD, and I thought about messing with pulling the turbo, but I couldn't quite see what one it had. It's an LPT car, so probably just a 13T or the sort, so I didn't mess with it.

Going to take a day off work on Fri to get started on her trans replacement and be able to get a good full day into it.A few other goodies are going in, but keeping scope creep to a minimum, as it's her only car, and she's trying to avoid driving mine (or the truck).

As far as I know, it’s on the original clutch (190k). Looks like I have some work ahead of me!
Start by ensuring there are no hydraulic leaks. Easiest place to start. But it could very well be time for a clutch at 190k.

This is a Volvo post, your S70 is in the last picture!
Looks great!

Any ideas for easy crank pulley removal with hand tools?
I always use an impact and it zips off easily, but with hand tools you’ll probably need the crank pulley holder. Fortunately, they don’t usually get seized onto the crankshaft, and will come loose with a couple blows with a 3 lb dead blow. I’ve even had some slide right off with little to no effort, no hammer required.

Installed the "R" exhaust manifold - went pretty smoothly. But now I'm dealing with a broken replacement CBV valve kit from IPD. I had been using the kit with the stock spring that came installed, but when I went to switch up to the stiffer blue spring I couldn't pull the unit apart. I talked to IPD and was told that I should just pull it apart - that it won't break. I said that I'd been trying to do just that, but in my experience I was going to break this if I tried any harder. " Just do it ! " Well I did, and guess what ? It broke. So I'm hoping that they will stand behind their words and send me a replacement. I'm thinking that the plastic gets harder and less flexible with heat and that's why I couldn't pull it apart, where as when its new it will flex enough to separate. But that's just a guess.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

Must be from the heat, I've been able to change mine multiple times. I was initially running the blue spring, but switched to the red spring some time ago.
Usually with the iPd ones, you hear of diaphragm failure. The plastic tends to hold up. Maybe it was a bad run.

Took the R around the block today, and the steering feels SOOO much better even though the alignment is awful. I’ll begin tearing down the rear sometime this week. Just need to replace the trailing arm mounts on the delta link first.

I also changed the transmission fluid on the XC90 yesterday. It was LONG overdue at 183k miles on likely original fluid, from the looks of it. 4 drain and fills, 10 quarts total. It certainly looked cleaner by the final drain, and it shifts nice and smooth. Not that it was shifting poorly before, but I’ve wanted to take care of this for a while, and just hadn’t had the chance.
I really love the design of the fluid level check plug on the TF80SC. Super easy to do while monitoring temps with VIDA.

Finally got the 'R' into the new garage and inspected the mufflers as I was certain one was leaking. Some crusty areas but no holes found so hopefully good for another year!

With the electrical issue now hopefully sorted (I think it was a fried headlight switch), I had to swap the winter rims/tires for the summers. Due to lack of use during house reno and garage build, the summer rims have not been on the car for about 3 years! Even the winters on it were replaced this year and have traveled about 40' in total since fitting and only in the garage!

Trying to get the car out for a short run tomorrow to warm the oil for a oil and filter change. AS car has only done about 1000km in about 3 years it is due a change before the 'boss' plans to use it over the summer.

Neil.
