Upthread I mentioned the catalytic converter I pulled off. I wound up selling it to my core guy Thursday and for that s70 turbo sedan cat I was very pleased to receive $440 :o :o :o :o :o

That’s good coin. I’ve got two spare cats at the moment but running four 1999s with aging ones I’m going to keep the spares handy I think¡

UPDATE brought another 1998 S70 cat to the same place today and got $510 for it . Same exact Cat mixed ceramic at the front and foil at the back.

2 small BMW cats from a 1997 328i were only $75 each

2 volvo ECM's from a 1998 were refused for lack of demand as was a ABS module

Oops, my post is perhaps misleading. The spare cats are from cars I have parted out and/or sent to the crusher. All the running cars in my fleet have working catalytic converters.

I have no issue stripping out the SAS system from a P80 car given its headaches and that SAS was installed so haphazardly in different markets and different years, but would never remove a working catalytic converter. Never had to deal with replacing a cat, for that matter.

Sorry for incorrectly suspecting you of driving catless. It's not the impression I've had of you after all the years here in the forum. So, once again, sorry!

On a side note: Volvo cats, another example of quality parts sourced by Volvo: I have 3 850ies with over 200.000 miles, all on the original cat, zero problems when tailpipe sniffing.
My old Ford Mondeo (Contour in the US): rattling cat after 100.000 miles. I had two of them Mondeos rust out on me with 12 or 13 years. So 2 of them combined ran shorter than any of my 850ies.
