Charging AC on 2004 xc70.

I've been trying to recharge the AC system on my 2004 XC70 but the kit I purchased wont let me connect to the low-pressure port.
I can get it partially on to the point where the port will disperse the refrigerant. Does this low-pressure port require a special female adapter? Thank you

you probably have the wrong port.
Look down near the water pump or alternator pulley.
