FWD axle shafts

Need to replace front passenger axle sometime soon. 2006 V70. Is there a difference between Turbo & Non Turbo shafts? I've been looking for a decent used one on eBay, but most FWD ones I see are only listed as fitting Turbo model. But yet I've seen new aftermarket shafts listed elsewhere that say fit both Turbo/non turbo

Yes, there are differences between the turbo and non-turbo shafts and I know this because I replaced the passenger side shaft with a remanufactured one from O'Reilly's Auto Parts and they gave me a non-turbo shaft for my V70 T5. The axles fit length and spline wise and I even had the axle on my car until the boot split and this is when I found out when trying to order the correct boot the outer CV joint on the turbo is larger in diameter and the inner tri-pod joint is of a different design, the turbo version looks more robust. Both NA and Turbo version should fit but it would be better to use only a turbo version shaft on a turbo model car. If you can only find a turbo version shaft and you have a NA car then that should work fine but if you order boots for it you need to know what type of axle it is.

If you still have an original Volvo/GKN axle have you considered having it rebuilt by someone like Axles Unlimited?

You can search SKandix website using your VIN, then use that part number to order the part from your favourite seller. Or what i used to do is ring a dealership and ask what the part number is, ive been suprised sometimes the dealerships are cheaper than online sellers. OR if you post it here i can look it up for you.
