Are there any other ways to clear it? I found a vacuum line that was off and reconnected it. I then disconnected my battery for about an hour and pushed in the brake pedal a few times and then reconnected the battery. Then, when I cranked the car up, the check engine light came on as soon as I turned the key to start and it never went off. Surly it couldnt read rich that quickly. Any other methods to try?

Just drive. The CE light will go out after a drive cycle* in which no codes appear. Mine has come on twice in my 850 ownership, once for a bad O2 sensor that I replaced, and once for a popped-off intake hose that I fixed. The first drive cycle completed itself in about two days, while the second took a week (of not driving much/far).

* a drive cycle being a combination of miles and/or continuously running time that someone else here surely knows more about

Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. If the CEL comes back, the problem persists.

Although I don't agree about the time you say to disconnect the battery, I do agree that if the CEL comes back, something persists. Certainly you can also "clear" the codes with the diagnostic boxes on the older 850's and a scan tool on the '96 and newer ones.
