These are the good reasons to keep the wire loom in place.

IPD has good high temperature wire loom for the smaller diameter. Still, it will not last forever.

I had a fearful time removing one spark plug, it wouldn't turn. Once removed, a blackish substance around the thread and in the well was present -- did not know then that the disintegrated loom had turned into lock tight.

I used the other spark plugs repeatedly to thread and pick up most of the substance. I suspect some particles may have reached bottom of the oil pan.
