Thanks . i am trying to restore any parts that is salvageable and documenting as I go . So far panels are in good shape and engine is good pretty condition 234,000 km. These k-jet do not like sitting idle ... It was in a barn for 17 years . Some of the Upholstery faded but not too damaged. Definitely going to install new underlay and vibration/soundproofing layer. Fish oil...huh! I've never seen that before. Does it all wash off with soap and water and do you degrease it?

Its something we do a here in NZ and Australia.. Its does protects the sheet , penetrates well and prevents rust forming. These Fish oils are deodorised, long lasting, rust inhibiting coating . You can get them in local auto shops over here .
https://www.repco.co.nz/en/car-care-pan ... p/A1221672

On the steel panels, this is the process I use
    Strip to bear metal
Sand using Metal sand 360/ , them 800
Add 1 part white vinegar+ 4 part water and apply on bear metal & rub the surface.
surface rust turns as rust powder and rust area become black. ( after 30minutes)
Wipe with water and dry with hand towel then air blower
Apply Light 1 layer of fish oil. ( do this during winter time)
Leave it couple of months ( cover the car , preferable in garage)
Inspect and wipe with Methanol spirit . If you see rust forming apply the vinegar treatment
Apply POR 15 Rust Preventive Paint to seal it permanently https://por15.com/
Then do your normal 2k prime, body filler, sanding and then finish coat...etc

On panel cavities you can apply the fish oil or ATF33 ( RED/PINK mineral AT Fluid) to keep moisture out etc... ATF33 is for the BW35/55 gearbox & power steering fluid (ATF TYPE G)

These are old school method, time consuming but I am not in a hurry. I have seen may poorly restored car panels start rusting after 2-3 years.

For underbody , the car already had a good Bituman rubbery coating, but i water blasted, air dried and applied another fresh coat . These steps should give a good seal underbody and for the panel before painting from rusting.
