Question about driving through water...

Greetings everyone..

When I drive my 740 through a rather deep puddle of water, how come my steering wheel feels so hard as if it has lost power steering?

the power steering belt is probably getting wet and slipping, making you lose your power steering until it dries off

ok, thanks. cuz my other concern was that I thought my car was hydroplaning (floating) in the puddle.. since my rims are still the original 14"s without spokes (just air vents on the circumference). Thinking of upgrading to 15"s on my next tire change..
