P2 ECM-614 ECM-614B ECM-612 ECM-611 exhaust reset valve

Post by dymetz62 »

Sooo; I had a check engine light come on.Went to a dealer;they gave me a code for an exhaust reset valve;code ECM-614B. They gave me a 425.00 estimate. I'v check here and on a Volvo parts site and can't find any such part or code. It's typed on the reciept so I know I'm putting in right. It's a 05 XC70 2.5 T. Any ideas? Thanx

They may be referring to the exhaust cam VVT solenoid - I believe it may be called a reset valve sometimes.

How's that for a link?

Some people warn against messing with it without a cam hold tool. I've never dealt with it so I can't say for sure.

I have a 2007 XC70 with 170K miles on it. Last week, I started getting intermittent and E614 error and then also E611, both exhaust and intake selenoid errors. I decided to replace the camshaft position sensor as a first step. While in the process of removing the camshaft position sensor, I discovered that the Camshaft Position Sensor Housing, Volvo 30650664, was cracked.

I replaced this and, since I had it, the camshaft position sensor, since I already had it. I have not had an error code since.

had similar problem after a cam seal job, turned out the cam sensor was slightly loose.
