2004 Volvo S60 Hard Start/Stall P0089

I'm just posting for posterity's sake and because this website has helped me a few times.

I have a 2004 Volvo S60 2.5T with 170K miles and it was difficult to start after sitting overnight. Usually cycling the keys a few times in an attempt to prime to fuel time would get it to start. It would stumble a bit, but eventually start. The check engine light would usually come on and P0089 would be stored. There were no other codes present. I used a screwdriver to press in the schrader valve on the fuel rail and noticed how little pressure there was. I figured the fuel pump was tired and ordered and installed the replacement. The symptoms were slightly better but not perfect. The P0089 code would still come back. I most likely replaced a part that did not need to be replaced. My next best guess was the PEM/fuel pump control module. My local U-Pull-It yard didn't have any S60's but they had other Volvo's so I used the list below to find compatible vehicles. I ended up pulling it from a 2008 XC90. The car starts and runs great now and most likely was the culprit all along. I hope this helps someone.
