Moving on to the intake.

Yes, purists may scoff and tell me I need to use an actual gasket on the throttle body but I say EH, this engine's full of chemgasket. A little more will be fine.

What engine management will you be running on this car? Not planning on keeping it M4.3, I assume based on the Bosch ETB.

Thank you!

Since I can't run the CVVT functions with the B5234T's ECU, I bought a computer from a 2006 S60R and an engine wiring harness from a 2005 V70R. Of course, I bought the wiring harness BEFORE the engine was delivered - complete WITH wiring harness.

Oh well, worst case I can combine them.

I'll have parts from probably a dozen different cars in this thing when I'm done with it.

Chassis is a 95 850, engine is from a 2004 S60R, ECU from a 2006 S60R, engine wiring from out of a 2005 V70R, transaxle came from a 2000 V70, shifter and cables started out in a 2007 C30, manual pedal box from a 97 850, FCP 305mm brake upgrade that's not technically supposed to fit but does, intercooler and exhaust piping will have to be custom-fabbed, plus a bunch of miscellaneous bits and pieces to make it all work.

300 horsepower going through an M56 to the front wheels only. Should be entertaining.

Sweet! That should be a fun setup! The shifter setup might need a little modification, but I'm not too familiar with the P1 stuff. Those mostly get used with the P1 M66 swaps in P80s.
I think the S60R ME7 will be great. Much better tuning potential than the stock ECU. Shouldn't be too hard to put everything together in the car.

The ECU expects a security code from a CEM before it will let the engine start ( immobilized ). You don't have a CEM. How are you going to get around that?

Okay, I didn't know about the CEM. Could you elaborate?

CEM = Central Electronics Module. From 1999 and on everything is networked together through a Central Electronics Module.

All right, I had no idea there was such a thing so to answer your question - I don't know yet. Have any suggestions while I figure it out?

You could find somebody that can edit the code in the ECU so that it can run as an island. Then reroute the wiring for the lighting ect.
I think this would be the path of least resistance.

Could install a CEM from S60 or V70. The lighting on the S60/V70 is controlled by the CEM and powered by the fuse box on the CEM you are going to need to do some rewiring one way or another. Any you would need more P2 control modules. Such as the lighting control module. Then you would have the problem of physically fitting them. This would be a bigger chore and more of a kludge then running the ECM as an island.

Either way you will need some reprogramming. Because the S60/V70 key is chipped.

Interior or exterior lighting?
