As a result the tranny shifts very nicely now. Effortlessly in minus 20 degree celcius. Next do the upgrades to the software in the computer.
Umm, you don't put 11 quarts in, it takes about 6 or so. You FLUSH with those first 6, I actually use about 16 quarts 10 to get everything old and dirty out and the last 6 stay in

After 11 liters (11quarts plus12%) the fluid was very clear in the transmission. I was there with 2, fully carded, Volvo-Saab mechanics. More than a case of oil is a bit OCD for a 70k mile car. Pepo, a super cheap way to reprogram the computer might be to reboot it. Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and the computer will fall back to its "limp home mode" from which it will then start to move towards a higher performance setting.

Back, Finally I was able to do the flush. Took forever to get the Mobil fluid from the US to here. The car is better but still miss shifts sometimes, although now less. I have alot of engine codes the tranny guy said like 8. Somthing about the turbo and bank 1 something and can't remember the rest. On the dash the Emission systems needs interval displays. with the icon of an engine lit up. Last night I added a injecter cleaner (Gumout I think). I out it in as filling the tank with premium. After ward I took the car out and punch the pedal..... the car hesitated and the engine light began to flash (before it was just constantly on) and now it has a choppy idle. I think the fuel filter got something lodged in it. My mechanic told me never use injecter cleaners because that can happen. ALl I want to do now is get it fixed enough to sell it. This is not the car to have in mexico. Only one dealer here and no private mechanics can work on the car. Here no one even knows what VADIS is .........Today I plan to go to the dealer buy the fuel filter and have my private mechanic install it. Hopefully that will help. As for the turbo seemingly not work who knows. I just can tell you the car is not as fast as it once was.

If you have a bank 1 error make sure you don't have any small vacuum hose leaks...could also be an 02 sensor but check the cheap stuff first. That in itself could cause many of your symptoms.

Some good news...... My mechanic checked the car and said right away that it was either a sparkplug or a ignition coil. After further investigation he was right, it was the later. He was laughing because it was the only coil hard to remove (the one below the large coolant tube) anyway by the time we made it to the ONLY Volvo dealer here, the parts department was closed (saturday they close at 2 pm) :x Autozone says a Duralast brand that thye swear is a Wells, however, it is with a 15 day order only. So Monday my buddy who has a S40 T4 will be picking one up at the Dealer. Any Idea how much a S 60 2.4 T Coil costs at a US dealer? I found the prices here are not really that mush different. They just factor in here a 15% sales tax and a 11:1 exchange rate. Thanks for alal the help guys, I will try the battery cable removal trick next.

Battery cable removal will not "reprogram" your computer. it just sets the adaptives back to the beginning. This is not a bad thing especially if you've made some major changes in the way your car operates. There is however a transmission software upgrade (TCM) for your car and if you have not had it, it is highly recommended. I believe it's called the 155 upgrade or at least is part of the "155 campaign." Ask your dealer- they will know. It's the one that eliminates shift flares and helps the ETM. JRL will know better- I believe he deals with the P2 cars more than anyone else on this forum.

The coil pack on your car is $61.17 retail and can be had from foreigncarpartsonline.com for $41.96. If you're not in a hurry and your dealer is outrageous you might shop here or with free shipping from eeuroparts.com for $48.65 (though probably not free shipping to Mexico). Stay away from Duralast or other non-volvo brands on ignition and suspension parts. They will just create more headaches for you.
