Abscate,

I'd like to add more posts to this thread, but I'd like to do it in order. When you get a chance, could you put my previous posts into this thread?

Thanks.

FWIW, the cover (PN 9135043) is still available brand new for about $46.

edit: I goofed on the PN and can't delete this post

Thanks - I didn't know that.

It's funny how if you search the internet enough, unobtanium becomes, um, obtanium, I guess.

Have you figured out the "No CEM" work-around for using the stock R ECU yet?

Haven't nailed it down yet, but most likely am going to have the ECU reflashed to delete the immobilizer.

While Abscate's compiling all of my posts on what I've decided to call a 1995 "860R" into this thread, I figured I'd post more progress.

I mocked up the accessory drive...

...and all the 850 accessories fit. Except for the reservoir on the power steering pump - the output line nipple fouls on the intake manifold. I took the reservoir off the pump to get it to fit square on the bracket.

Oh well.

My plan is to modify the output nipple - not sure how yet - and get some Aeroquip hose & fittings from Summit Racing to build custom power steering lines.

Now it all has to come apart for cleaning. The accessories all ran when parked - we all know what that means, but hopefully it's true. I'll take the alternator and starter over to AutoZone and have them test each.

Fingers crossed...

This is going to be a fairly rapid-succession series of posts, since I've gotten a lot done in the past couple of weeks.

Moving on.

Fitted the fuel rail.

Yanked the front subframe out of the 860R and started cleaning it.

It was pretty oily and gritty - not quite Netflix's The Punisher gritty, but still ugly. With the subframe ouf of the car, I had to find temporary lodging for the front brake calipers. They're hangin' ten right now.

While I was wrestling the fuel lines out of the way, it occured to me that I can bin them because the S60R uses a returnless fuel system, and so doesn't need the 850's return line (or fuel pump). More on that later.

Then I removed the front mounts. A hydraulic press is NOT necessary for this job - A deadblow hammer, good aim and the WILL TO USE BOTH work fine.
