Couple of things to be careful of when working with the valve body and checking for the B5 spring. After taking off the cover plate to check for the B5 spring make sure the lock-up relay valve sleeve is oriented correctly when re-assembled, see page 2 of the attached doc, it's the other valve under the cover plate. Just make sure the step on the outside of the valve sleeve is oriented correctly, the high part of the step must not be under the cover plate. This valve sleeve can be compressed and if rotated the high step can end up under the cover plate, not what you want, the edge of the step should line up with the edge of the plate. No part of the high part of the step should be under the cover plate.
Also, be careful with the valve body gaskets, they are made of a brittle type material and can be cracked easily if bent too far.
Torque spec for the cover plate bolts is 7N.m. or 62 in lb.

I haven't used the Transtec (?) gasket this time. It developed a weep over time after VB replacement, I could not stop it. This time it is just sealant.

You're talking about steel pan cover over the valve body, right?

Ah, right, sorry, I misread you. The compromised VB gasket was the main reason I've decided to do a VB rebuild, and that eventually cost me the second transmission rebuild

But I think it's possible to check the B5 spring in place? No need to unbolt the VB from the transmission.

Also, in a matter of VB gasket: the one that comes with a brand new VB, from Aisin factory, is much thicker/higher quality than the one in Transtec overhaul kit.

Now the box is back together. for the second time.
Reviewing my photos I noticed that I forgot to do the indentations on the pinion nut

Measuring the right way I have 1.4mm so right in the middle of the spec I guess.

Now a little bit more coaching wanted...
The B5 spring in the valve body seams to be present in my old valve body. Pressing on it you can feel its spring loaded.
Do I really need to take of the pan on this box to verify the same ?

I want to clean the radiator before assembly. Is it enough to just pure new oil thru it or should I clean it in another way?
Also planning so do a little mini flush of the R box just to be super safe.

You've made good progress with this major car repair. .
How did everything go with the valve body B5 spring check? No spring I'll bet. If you removed the valve body from the transmission to check for the spring were you careful to keep the two seals between the case and valve body in place? This is where the tacky transmission assembly grease really helps out.
