STARTER

This is what I've found. There is a cable with small adapter that looks broken off. Here is the pic. It goes to a rounded part behind the starter. Sorry Matt need help. I know you don't like anyone saying Help but what is that and does that require soldering. Thanks guys.

yep. that would be your negative terminal on the solenoid connecting it to the ground on the starter.

i don't think you'd need a new starter, move the ground wire back onto the solenoid terminal closest to the wire (with a bolt over it) and see if that works. by no means a permanent fix, but certainly worth a shot.

It is like as short as my little finger nail and I don't have long nails, I can see where he tightened that nut a twisted the wire and terminal. I really don't see how I can do that it's a flat copper piece on the end.,,hey what about one of those round end things that go over bolts ya know. I wonder if I squeezed one of those on the wire. Does this have to be copper.oh man I'm really bummed

Be careful with that short wire. When the solenoid pulls in it carries u fused high current 12V. It can’t touch metal anywhere.

If it’s broken off the terminals it is hard to fix. A $60 starter is a piece of junk I’m afraid, unless it was a Volvo one from a junkyard.

i think that would absolutely work, if you just find a way to, and i can't stress this enough PROPERLY wire the ground back onto the solenoid, double check connections before you even consider putting power through it.

It’s not a ground wire. It must not touch ground or your car will catch on fire, literally
