Its looking more like a jammed Column lock. Have you tried turning the steering wheel as you turn the key?

Got it figured out, I had bought an aftermarket ignition switch, it was a dud, it was getting stuck, nothing to do with lock or key at all.

Did you sin by buying a URO part?

We will not shame anyone for buying off brands, but we would like to know if any brands are suspect.

I bought it from IPD, I just tried looking up my order history, but nothing shows, it will show if I order something again, it was either Ignition Switch - 200/700/900
Aftermarket - VM380 - 9447805 - 126026
or
Ignition Electrical Switch - 140 240 260 -1989
MTC - VM300 - 9203247 - 246487
this time around I purchased and waiting for it to come in.
Ignition Electrical Switch 240 740 760 780 940
Genuine Volvo - 9447805 - 104922
