I won’t put anything back on my cars now without Volvo hardware if it sees corrosion or if it’s a steel into Aluminum fastener. That’s sAved me hours of nasty wrenching

On that thermostat job

Volvo says remove 2 liters of coolant to make thermostat removal dry.

Torque on the thermostat housing bolts is 17 Nm. That’s not very tight. The gasket does the work.
I agree, no junk hardware, but spending up for t-stat bolts is pushing the practicality limits for me. Cam cover bolts work perfectly! Scavenge them by the handfuls from Volvos in the junkyard.

Right.... that's how I know that a VIC exists. What I don't know is where the VIC is on the car.
Air pump is a poorly designed system. A check valve (SAS valve) above the exhaust wears out, sticks open, then the pump fills with water and dies. You can also opt to get rid of it search for "SAS delete."
Fantastic, I will look for that.
Center console cup holders no good for you? Get a skinnier cup! :D
Maybe I'm blind.... I will look again, but I don't see any cup holder.

Agreed the VIC elusive but my point is ... not worth the effort to find, tells you nothing.

The cup holders are in the arm rest, they pull out. viewtopic.php?t=67635

Oh! I thought the double pull, but single latch was weird. It never occurred to me that the wider one pulls out, to be a cup holder. Thanks :D

I assumed Russett was a payment service or e-currency I hadn't heard of.... Google doesn't give me anything of relevance.

I went out into the cold, and verified that I do in fact have a cup holder... using it has gotten a bit more important, as I've discovered the brakes on my current daily driver, must have a slight leak someplace. If I hit the pedal hard, it starts sinking, and I don't want to fix that.

Volvo parts are supposed to start arriving Thursday.

Typical half-baked answer from abscate!!

Glad you found the cup holder. They are not particularly strong so be careful how big a cup you put in it or it ends up on the floor.
