What non automotive projects and repairs are you doing?

Yes, the plumbers nightmare!
Yesterday I worked on the other bathroom. Same process, different room. After a frustrating effort with a slightly out of round copper tube and no more slake in the tube through wall, I made the poor choice to reuse the existing tube ferrule. Predictable results - drip.........drip.........drip.
Maybe I can tighten it more.

Plumbing Bites! Unless it's Shark Bites.

Had to replace two shutoff valves before I could repair the kitchen faucet. 3rd time using various types of Shark Bites on plumbing projects. Plumbers won't use it but definitely a quick permanent fix for DIY'ers.

Had helped one neighbor replace the faucet which was put in by the builder then the loose handle of another. When it was time for mine I couldn't find anything that we liked and wasn't sure if the right parts were available at HD or Lowes.

Found a part number under the lever handle cap and Duckduckgo showed it was a Moen part. Discovered they had Lifetime Warranty on most of their products. The lady knew exactly what I needed after asking just a couple of questions about what was wrong with it. Though the faucet was discontinued they had retrofit parts. I didn't wind up using the pull out hose assembly as it didn't fit well and not the same surface. Was able to fix the old hose and nozzle but still needed the valve kit.

Initially thought the assembly had cracked. It was leaking internally and out the top of the valve then down. The water never went above the lever and out the cap so was going to replace the whole thing. Thank goodness for Youtube showing similar Moen faucet repairs.

Most consumer just replace not realizing, as with myself, Meon will send an entire new unit if warranty parts aren't available.

High today was about 30F with gusts to 40 MPH. A good day to work inside. I got one bathroom sink, faucet, and supply hoses replaced. Worked about 4 hours including one trip to the hardware. I may have even got the small leak tighten and stopped.
It look very nice. My wife said "Wow!".
Priceless.

I had a 20 year old Price Pfister faucet crack, couldn’t find my receipt or part number.

I half heartedly emailed a picture to tech support asking if they could help,me.

One hour later , I got a text message from usps that’s part had been dispatched and a replacement head arrived the following day.

20 years I use to keep receipts also. Had to pay expedited shipping because it was leaking so no water in the sink. Good thing we have a large laundry room sink. Wife was not too pleased . Going to consider Price Fisher from now on for new faucets.
