98 AWD manual tranny in 96 AT? Topic is solved

I came across a cheap manula tranny out of a 98 V70 AWD. Can that 98 tranny be used in a 96 FWD AT car? I k ow about the issues of a manual swap, but the questions are:

a) is a 98 5 speed similar to the 93 -97s (the quaife LSD is listed for 93 - 97 trannies, so I would guess there is a difference)?
b) do you just leave the awd unit mounted to the tranny?
c) if so, do you need a different downpipe or will the awd unit clear the stock downpipe?

From what I gather, it should work as far as bolting up, but you would need the right side axle from a manual AWD, and left side from a manual. I doubt the downpipe would work with the AWD case there.

Well, I guess it is easier to get a FWD tranny then. I will keep my eyes open for a manual donor car which will gladly donate the clutch pedal assembly as well.
