My 850 overheating

Post by solitaralee »

So I'm new at this car stuff. I've had my '96 Volvo 850 for about a year but it just started overheating yesterday. I can't find the radiator to add water, though. Can anyone help me on this?

Also, my gas pedal seems to be sticking. Anyone else have this problem?

Oh yeah, and my tape player won't play tapes anymore. This happened the day my boyfriend got me an adapter for my Ipod. Will I have to get a new stereo??

Thanks so much, and sorry for being such a newbie!

Welcome! The overheating part is scary. There should be a clear plastic container on the passenger side of the inner fender, about halfway between the front of the car and the back of the engine compartment. This is where you put the coolant for the radiator.

The bigger question is: why is the car losing coolant? You need to find this answer asap.

The sticky gas pedal could be a dirty throttle body.

I think its time to see a professional mech.

Fix the overheating problem ASAP. Aluminum engines do not like excessive heat. Spend a little now to save a lot later.
