I've had my car inspected twice since I've owned these, and have never heard of anyone being pulled over/ticketed because they have HID's but their OE was halogen.
hid, BiXenon, xenon, retrofitting, conclusively ruled out

even if you get a dot approved bulb/ballast it wont matter as the housings were never made for hids. i say save the money and do a projector retrofit, in the end its very rewarding and nighttime driving is never the samemune237 wrote:These HID kits are only DOT approved if you are replacing bulbs on a car that has OE HIDs.

The deal is...aim them correctly, and you won't draw attention to yourself.
