It's driveable, the ebrake just doesn't work, doesn't impact normal braking. I did the front brakes a couple years ago, new rotors & calipers. I've emailed you, thanks!

I’ve got 2000 part out car getting picked over in March and April. Not all parts will work on an R but dome will at least.

I think the 99 R rear brakes are easier to find than the unicorn 2000 R system. There is a chassis break on the 99 to watch out

Not sure you can swap 99 brakes over to a 2000 R. The mounting points are different. You might have to swap the whole hub assembly over. I did detail how you can swap the brakes from a P2 over from info Volvo gave me a while back (4-6 years ago?).

I'm planning to visit the Millennium Falcon in a week to run a VIDA scan to determine its issues, especially the airbag SRS light. What diagnostics are important for me to check while I'm there? Aside from the snapshot info in the Diagnostics tab seems, are there data I could get from the sensors which would help? I have limited time with the car so want to gather as much as possible while there. Thanks.

1) Airbag. Most likely someone tripped this when working on the car without battery disconnected. Chances are you just need to re-set it and see if it returns. Otherwise see if there are any relevant codes thrown. Could be a bad wire to the seat airbags for example.
2) Fan motor. Chances are one of the guys near you can supply one at a reasonable price. I have a several and resistor packs but cost to ship is an issue.
3) Tailgate latch - Check if the latch bar on the floor of the tailgate opening still has a hard nylon sleeve on it. If it is missing, the tailgate may not latch and it will rattle. To test try wrapping a load of electricians tape around it and see if it improves. Also check there is a rubber bumper either side of the tailgate opening. I have seen them missing by damage/age or falling off. If they are not there again the door will rattle and not seat properly.

As for any other codes we will have to wait until you pull them to know what to action on those.

4) Parking brakes - we have already covered those.
5) Prop-shaft. If you decide to sell, adjust price accordingly or see if the new owner even cares. You can supply it with the car and they can decide if they want to repair and reinstate.

I've replaced the fan motor four times with used units, replaced the resistor once...they all died quickly even with a teardown, cleanup and lubing. Tho the one I got from abscate lasted the longest! Think I need to give up and buy new...don't want whoever buys it to come back in a few months yelling because the blower died...
anybody have a use for a pile of misbehaving blower motors? kinda seems a shame to dump them back at the boneyard, they're good for rebuilds or something?

The plastic cover on the rear hatch you mentioned is definitely gone. I'll try the tape trick, thank you! I wouldn't care as much because it does stay shut, but the 'door open' warning light is on and exhaust & moisture gets in through the bad seal, and condensation INSIDE the car is never a good thing. You don't wanna know what happened in there last summer with all the rain and humidity we had up here. (yes I cleaned it all out, but ugh)

Yeah, it's going with the Falcon whether they want it or not, no reason to keep it. I have all the bolts and such for it too. Last time I looked the only option was to ship it to Colorado for rebuilding.

Man I wish I had a bigger driveway...and a lift...

I did the whole rear sub-frame removal and repairs, painted the underside of the car and undercoated it all with the car on tall axle stands. I had the car on 4 axle stands which gave access to the whole prop-shaft.

Unfortunately Colorado is one of the only trusted repairers of the prop-shafts left. Could be worse, you don't have to ship to/from Canada to get it repaired!

The tailgate latch part is not horribly expensive from what I recall. In fact at the time I replaced mine I ran after paying for it as I thought they mispriced it! Hardest part was removing the old one and getting it aligned for the new one. I marked the position of the old one before removing it to make sure the new one went in the same place.

I replaced the fan motor the last time with a new one, but at that time, like you, I was planning to sell the car. I am surprised though that the used ones have failed that quickly. All the ones I pulled ran quietly in the car and tight bearings. Maybe just bad luck.

Good Luck!

It does beg the question if there's something wrong somewhere causing them to die. I tested all of them before installing, cleaned & lubed etc, and they sounded and ran fine when they go in, but eventually they just kind of fade out like something's cooking the motor. I did replace the power stage once, didn't seem to make a difference.
