06 XC70 Tailgate latch doesn't!

Well after a period of behaving it has returned. What I don't get is why the latch mechanism moves to the lock position again once you open the tailgate? You have to hold the door latch and push it back into the correct open position and then it closes fine again.

I think it is time for a new one. Seriously, you'd think they would make these things last more than 17 years!! :roll: :lol:

This has happened again because I just finished the headlight fixes and most of the bad work done by the body shop.

On this car I had one more job to do and that is the clamp between the newer muffler and the original pipe from the cat.

When new the muffler system was a one piece from the cat to tailpipe. As the rear muffler failed long before the rest, Volvo came out with a separate muffler which requires cutting the rear muffler off and clamping a new one on. Guess the dealer did not do a good job as it is clearly leaking from the join.

Then I have to look at getting the replacement mounts for the rear parking brake shoes before the fail and wreck the rear brakes.
